That is awesome I would use the hot pepper trick to if I were you and upcycling wood is the way to go my entire set up was built with upcycled pallets and plywoodSomething killed my favorite rooster not too long ago (maybe a bobcat). So i built a small but secure run for the girls, since whatever got my roo did so about 9 or 10 am, meaning they were not safe in their chicken playpen.

Me too but then, because they are making a wood floor, I wondered why they didn’t use pallets as the frame. My coop started with a pallet floor and built up from there. The floor pallets are wrapped in hardware cloth. No critters getting in that way.Huh, thought you'd just keep the concrete as the 'floor'.
