I want to get some peafowl next year and had some questions:
1) What would be a good peafowl to start out with?
2) What size group should they be in for breeding?
3) What dimensions should there pen be and what kind of housing/roost space do they need?

Start with whatever color you want. If you love the sight of them, I think you'll be a better parent.
3-4 hens max per cock or if you can start off with a pair and see if they mate and lay well.
8+' high and 10sf per bird

I have a mean pekin drake that thinks he's a goose named Mr. Peepers.

Thanks for the help! I know a lot of people have netting over their peafowl pens but is it ok to use wire on the top? What kind of house do they need and how high should the roosts be?

Stagger the roosts from 3 to 6 feet. Don't use metal, only wood. Yes wire on top is fine, alot of people use netting because it's cheaper for large areas. Mine free range, but alot of people use corner mounted nests, and dog house style little buildings but big enough for shelter from rain. They don't like being wet so much.

Thank you!

Does anyone have a recommendation on where I should buy them, and if I should buy chicks or juveniles?
