I also wanted to say thank you to everyone for your support. I don't feel alone now seeing all the people in my age group that went back already or are doing it now. I find it very encouraging. I have the motivation and determination to get this done. And if they deny me, so be it. I'll find another school that will accept me. And I WILL get my degree. I'm also hoping my previous college credits will somehow work. If not, that's fine too. I need the refresher courses anyway! I'll post here again when I find out whether they accepted me or not. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I too have returned to college. Classes start Monday and on Wed. I turn 34. Even though it had been years since I had been in college, they transfer most of my credits. Too bad that when I went before I was going for Architecture Technology and now I am going for Medical Billing and Coding. But with 3 kids ( one almost 2), I really wanted something that I can either do from home or work around my children's school schedule. I'm taking all of my classes online through Central New Mexico Community College. There are 4 classes that I will need to take later that are on campus only and the school is 2 1/2 hours away that I will have to figure out but I will. Congradulations on your return and to moving up!!!!

Good for you! My son just turned 34 and he got his LPN license last fall and is starting RN classes in Oct and working full time as well. We are never too old to try something new and you don't fail unless you try, so just hang in there!!

I think there are a LOT of us out there doing the same thing. It is so hard right now. I am driving an hour away to my school, I just started back and I am 36 years old. Don't fdeel alone and although it is very difficult at times (I have four young kids) it will be worthwhile in the end. That is what keeps me focused when I get "awwww mom your homeowrk again" or "Momma you said you would do this or do that" you know the kid "mom's time is ours" guilt trip. I just keep going and trying it is all you can do because it really does not look like it is going to get any better any time soon. Good Luck and hang in there and with being ex-military you really need to look into things well because there is a world of resources available to you!!!! Another thing the online colleges can also get you the stafford and federal loans whereas some smaller community colleges only take grants/schoplarships. I wish you the best!!!!!!!!!!
