On 2 of the eggs, I couldn't find the white spot at all.

On another 2, I found a white spot, no blastocyst.

On the 5th egg, I found a partially formed embryo. It wasn't alive. It looks like it stopped developing on day 3-4 (today is 7).

So, my rooster isn't a complete dud.

Could be. Their systems are getting back into the swing.
I loaded up my incubator a couple weeks ago, only 3 started growing, from about 25. So I ditched them all and started over last weekend. Set 27, and so far, I think only 3 are duds, and I'm not even to day 7 yet. The earlier set was also several that had just resumed laying.

Do you offer your hens extra vitamins for a while before you decide to collect eggs to hatch?
