(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Just starting research after a week or so of talking with my mum about being able to have chickens now. That is as long as we can get permission from neighbors and a license from our city. First Going through the process of what we want and what space we will use going off city regulations and what is suggested for the average chicken.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

None right now. However looking to get a license for 40 chickens but goal is for 30ish chickens.

(3) What breeds do you have?

None.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

My favorite thought of it is to raise chickens, name them, see what personality they have and the social ranking they will have. Looking forward to fresh eggs and we are looking to eat fresh chicken at some point.
Main goal is to get them for eggs. Secondary is eventually self bunching and having fresh meat. I know hard to think of killing your chicken and eating them. We will have our egg layers and some at some point will become dinner if they don’t die first I guess. Also, down the road one I have chicken caring started and having chickens in general I plan to have a few meat chickens at a time.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to spend time with family and friends, family research, watch tv/movies and I am a church goer so I volunteer in my church. Also can’t forget gardening.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

Just three of us, my mom and brother. One of these days I’ll get married and move out and will get more chickens with the family I create, but at the moment this family of mine are looking forward to add chickens in the near future if possible.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
