Hi! This year I was thinking about making a local poultry sale. First poultry sale I ever organize. Do you guys have any tips for me? planning to do it in September.

Find a good auctioneer that you trust and is licensed to sell poultry.

Depending on your state the birds may have to be blood tested before they can be sold. "check into that"

Some states also require that a vet be onsite for an animal sale. "check into that"

A good location of course is a must. Preferably in a building in case of rain or wind.

If you have to rent a building I recommend charging a per person entry fee help cover the costs. $2 per person for example.

Be sure that people know that the bid is times the number in the cage. $5 bid x 5 birds in the cage = $25. You'd be amazed how many people can't figure that out.

Also I highly recommend specifying that cages sell with the birds. Selling the birds without the cage drastically effects the price.
