starving bunny

Quote:
I did gice him a mouthful of poultry drench it has some good stuff in it! Not sure if that helped. I do have some poly vi sol i will do that next. His ears look perfect and clean teeth do look a little long to me but I am not sure what normal should look like. Thank you I enjoy helping out the less fortunate ones they seem to repay you with really good pets.

Don't let him eat too much at one time. His body may reject it. Small amounts every couple hours. Free choice honey water. Poor little guy.

What a blessing you for him/her.......
Getting warm is important. With cold kid goats i put a warm heating pad wrapped in a bath towel on thier belly.
I agree getting it hydrated is the key right now.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thank you all for your ideas and support, not too many people care about helping out a sick animal so its nice to hear people say it is a good thing and to genuinely care thanks again and I will be up all night until this guy/girl is on the road to recovery. I haven't checked "its" sex yet didn't wanna stress him out.

sounds like you have things going well. Small amounts of food every 2 hours. I would also offer hay. The roughage will help keep his system moving. He also needs access to his cecatrophes (sp?) Also known as night pellets. There is bacteria in their feces they need so they eat some. They look different than their normal stool. Do you have cultured yogurt? If so offer a little. It should help his digestion.

Good for you, for helping the poor critter.

I think it's terrible that someone would have let an animal get in such condition. I can't believe the folks running the auction didn't turn whoever originally owned this bunny into the authorities for animal abuse. Who knows how many other animals they may have at home that they didn't bring to the auction!
