Only if your hearts in it; serving ones country and being given an oportunity to lay down ones lofe for a friend or loved one as a high honor. The risk factor also varies depending wich service you join. Either way there are many sacrifices. If you feel the desire to serve your country, stand firm in who you are, and are a patriot, then by all means go fot it it. If you are self serving I don't recomend the job. It's not easy but you do have a paycheck every 2 weeks, job security, experience +++, as well as other benefits that go along with it. I joined the life saving service, the United States Coast Guard. In the Guard you can face a high risk factor any day; whether in peacetime or not, there's always work to do.

woow, Vetrans are getting alot of jobs lately, in Federal agencies. now I think its worth becoming a soilder. My big brother is going to enlist, in the Marines. but my dads friends was a seal, do you thinks its worth risking your life for you country? @Chic CAN
goes with the above.

yeah, my Dad works for CBRE and they are recruting a whole bunch of people with Military experience, and most dont even have any experience of the Job, and so forth, but still then, they are hiring them. My dad wants us to get enlisted, (so do I, I want to be a seal!) cause of all the benefits, and they pay for this and for that, and as soon as I am finished with 4 years of college (still in high school) I wnated to get enlisted so that when I go in I will be a officer, but thats still along time away. @Chic CAN

Most companies are looking for the work ethic... which good work ethic seems to be a rare minority anymore. They also know that MIlitary train train train, and we know how to learn fast ( of course there are ecxeptions). I quit to raise my family, I didn't feel it right for the kids to have both parents in the lifestyle. Its hard enough with ust one doing it. Research your goals well and stick too them. If I can give you any advice run at least 1 mile at a minimum of 3 times per week. Start studying ranks/paygrades and navy material. Best of wishes to you.
