State a fact about yourself!

I got almost all of my chickens from my grandpa, and they were all very sick and unhealthy. With two years of care, they are all healthy five year old hens. I have had 3 broody hens now, and I have gotten quite a few chicks from them. The only hen I wasn't able to nurture back to health was my hen named Henny. She has some brain damage (possibly dropped as a chick?) and she is half blind. She went through a faze where she could hardly walk, and we almost put her down. She walks fine now. She's basically my special needs hen. My grandfather used to kick the roosters, and he only cleaned the coop when he felt like it, which was almost never. Their coops used to have a foot of manure in them. I no longer had a relationship with him, and this is one of the reasons. He was never a nice person... Never will be either. I'm just glad that I gave my hens a nice long life.

All I can say is that they are all very blessed to have someone like to come to their rescue. Some people are just not meant to have God's creatures in their care and then there is you that person who cares from the heart. Wising you lots of continued luck and love with your flock.

I have been online for the last 2 and a half hours looking up ideas for a chicken tractor for my rooster so he can have his own flock. His daddy doesn't like him...
