State a fact about yourself!

My mother hen managed to get loose, and has disappeared with her four chicks!!! It's almost dark and I can't find her!!!

Oh no!! I hope you find her! My advice would be to check in the trees in your yard and any bushes. That's where my mother hens have always gone with their chicks. Or if you have any decks/porches or anything, check under those.

Oh thank god I found her! My chickens are housed in $800 worth of chain link dog lots, eight foot tall, hooked together so they have a TON of room. I usually let them out f the giant lot around noon to range about 50+ acres of assorted pastures and forest land. The mother hen and five day old chicks are housed with the rest f the chickens, they just sleep in their own box (any chick killing chickens are sent to freezer camp). To prevent anything from eating the mother hen, I let the rest of the chickens loose, and leave hen in the lot. This lets the babies through the fence, but they can quickly run to safety. The hen FLEW over (she has clipped wings) and got out with her babies. She puts the, to bed two hours before dark, but she couldn't get back in, so she got creative. She went about fifty yards below the run into the woods and found a tree that had fallen, pulling the roots out of the ground. She crawled so far back in there that to see her I had to crawl under the tree on my belly. Yeah, it was interesting, lol XD
