State a fact about yourself!

Hi there! I raise New Zealand whites and reds. Californians, standard and mini rexes my favs! But I have some cottontails, three beverens, an Altex, two lionhead a and two holland lops but my make just passed.

I raise for meat production and fur, but my rexes are for pets as well as the lion heads and Hollands. Parents come for meat bunnies, kids feel bad unless they can get a pet for themselves. :).

I'm having an outbreak of fur mites and ear mites. We just moved and heats in, plus they've been sharing space with chickens while building the colony building so I'm thinking those ingredients are causing a problem. Today chickens will be moved and colony done enough to set them free after mites are treated naturally.

I adore my bunnies. Breathtaking animals! My fav is Mr Mistopholees, a broken chinchilla standard Rex. He takes my blues away! :)

Thanks for asking! :)

Aw, thats so cool! you said you raise for meat production and fur? Is there a market for rabbit fur?

I have two rabbits. I'm thinking of dispatching the female though because she ate her two last litters. :/ If she eats this third one, she goes to the dogs.

No need to dispatch your doe. I had that problem, too. Get her pregnant. Calculate 28 days. Feed her 1/4 to 1/2 a very ripe banana and the skin if she wants. Do this for three days. She'll have the needed to potassium. Potassium deficiency makes them eat their young. Also, hang a piece of bacon from the top of the cage. She'll eat that over her babes. Guaranteed! Another thing is, give her a berry flavored Tum for three nights before delivery. Helps with calcium and delivery. Good luck! :D Let me know how she fairs.

Oh, sweet. I'll do that. She's been pregnant for a week and a half so far. Thanks for the advice and I'll let you know how she does! I was always told they ate their young because they didn't feel safe for some reason, but how do you fix that? lol
