"Stay Logged In" checkbox

I hate that the "Stay Logged In" checkbox defaults to being checked! As someone who logs out each time, I have to un-check it... EVERY TIME. If I were going to stay logged in, I would only have to check it ONCE and never see it again.

Does this bother anyone else?

I log off from pc and tablet. I keep the phone logged in though.

I just logged out, without unchecking the box, got logged out no problem. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, why uncheck the box? Do you not want to have to log out every time you leave the site?

Logging out isn't the issue. When loggin IN, the box is there and defaults to staying logged in. If I close the browser, I want it to log me out. Not keep me logged in.

So you are saying make it unchecked by default making the member choose to check it, not be auto checked.

Correct. Because if you check it once and stay logged it, you never see the option again either way, so it doesn’t matter. For those that log out every time, it’s a repetitive thing to have to do every time.

Although.....it occurred to me while driving home that using the “Log Out” button probably overrides the check box anyway, right? So if you purposefully Log Out, you are logged out. You only stay logged in if you just close the browser.

Is this correct?

Yes...if you just close it...well on my devices...it does not log you out.

Yes, that's what I did and said earlier I just logged out without unchecking the box (I usually stay logged in all the time) and it logged me out fine. I had to reenter my password to get back on.

Not the same thing, but I understand what you are doing too. That’ll work fine for me.
