Hi again! Iv'e been looking at Sue's skin and feathers, she has deplumeing mites and needs to be treated with Ivermectin to get rid of those properly.

What powder do you have? You can buy Ivermectin at Tractor Supply, in the cattle dept. Get the pour on. Put 3-4 drops on skin at base of neck, repeat in 10 days- pretty sure that's the recommended dose.
But with Permethrin powder....I part the feathers at the base of the neck and rub a pinch or two of powder on the skin, more under each wing and around the vent.
Two would be enough buddies for her.And after looking at pictures of other chickens i'm 99% sure Sue is a Red Star!! so now i know what kind of friends to get her. I hear the stars can be mean to other birds so i want them all the same. I was thinking maybe 2 more chickens. Is that addiquite enough? We are renting our house we live in now and are not even supposed to have animals so i have to put off my farm dreams for now but i do want to get her some buddies.
