Stealing the flock

My name is Gabby, and I want my aunt’s flock. She had chickens and ducks for me, but my dad died, and we lost the farm we were moving to. I am visiting her farm during winter break. I hope to get her birds when I am a few years older.
I have another aunt that thinks you can die if you hold a chick. I don’t think I’ll be taking after her. LOL

Nice to meet you Gabby. I don't think you will die after you hold a chick. If so NO ONE would be around to post on Backyard Chickens. It does make sense to wash your hands before handling them- so they don't catch anything from humans. And also to wash hands after handling chickens (or other animals.)

My chickens don't stink either. I think it has to do with keeping clean coops. But, there are times, like when a broody comes out for a break and leaves a big dump. That smells!!!
