steepness of ladders

how steep can the ladders to the roost and/or the entrance to the coop be? is a 90 degree slope that rises approx 3 foot (the ladder being approx 6 foot long) too much for lf hens to fathom? thanks.

Mine do just fine with much greater slope - my ladder is about 30 degrees off vertical and they typically jump the first two rungs.

hubby just gave me a remedial geometry lesson. my slope is 45 degrees. sad what i have forgotten, yet so much to learn. thanks hossfeathers.

Some chickens do well in coops 6-10 feet off the ground! I think it really depends on the chicken. I wouldn't think twice about pretty much any healthy chicken making it up your ramp though...
