WooHoo! I got 10 meaties butchered and they are in the refrigerator resting for a couple days. I am so glad that is done. I have lots more to do, but those Cornish Cross birds had to be done. I have a dozen, "red broilers," that aren't ready yet, and some of my grow-out birds will be processed, too. I imagine I will have lots of Delaware chicken meat for the freezer. I plan to gift frozen meat for Christmas this year. My kids thought that was a great idea. Win-win situation!

Sounds like you had a full day.

Hey Guys I need some help! I found my little cream legbar with a grossly swollen crop, oozing serum. It is swollen on the chest and completely around to the shoulder above the wing. Could this be from eating shavings? What do I do? Flush with mineral Oil? I don't have any. Suggestions? This guys is the best pick for my replacement for Reggie. I put triple antibiotic ointment on since it was oozing. HELP! These pictures were taken as I found him. No ointment on yet. Could it be a burn from the EcoGlow brooder?

Worried and waiting!

Minus the coffee.

Oh shoot! I can not find it. It seems like it was a puncture wound (from the inside) on the one I read, possibly from shavings. I can't recall how they treated it either.

I would think olive oil would be worth a try?
