Stella's Social Club

Okay Mary, you've been keeping two secrets from us, I bet there is lots more you don't tell us. Come clean.

No fair to move us to tears and then get Tucker back and I guess this is a buddy he had at the foster home. Then Mary will return both dogs and we'll cry twice as much, and she'd bring in a third dog.

Mary is a drama queen.

OK, we just couldn't get over not having Tucker with us. Someone suggested that we attend the adopt-a-thon that the rescue was having on Saturday and find a more suitable dog. We researched the available dogs online and went to Petco on Saturday. One of the dogs that stood out in our research was Rodney, a Val Hound mix. We met him and after a few hours decided to give it a try again. One thing that impressed us was the camaraderie amongst the dogs. Rodney was very playful with the other dogs. They tried to talk us into adopting a second dog but we declined. After much discussion we decided to try to get Tucker back I finally got approval yesterday and I picked him up today. We have gotten a lot of good pointer's about working with abused/neglected dogs and we think we can do it better this time. Tucker went nuts in the car when he saw me and his foster mom finally had to let him out. He jumped straight up into my arms and licked my face off. She said, "He is really happy to see you."

I brought him home and he ran straight to Michael and wouldn't let go for the longest time. No piddling! The boys have played like they have been best buddies their whole lives. They have lounged in our laps, run outside, napped, played, and pee'd outside all day.

BTW, we question the Valhound breed for Rodney. I am having him DNA tested. There is a test for mixed breed dogs that goes back and identifies all the breeds in them. It is pretty cool. They say it helps with understanding your dog's behavior but I just think it would be cool to know. I may just test Tucker too!

I will join you! Setting a few in just a few minutes! We can have a hatching party in 3 weeks!

Our own private hatch-a-long. Minus the prizes.

PS - are some of those eggs kinda light for dark eggs? My New Hamps lay eggs as dark as that front tray.

I have some due to hatch this weekend and then mine is going off for couple weeks. It should have already been shut off, but I got an unexpected batch of eggs. Trying to make it easier on house sitter when I pick the kids up from Texas after their visit with their dad. I was planning on spending the week on a beach, but that isn't gonna happen. :(

I was thinking the same thing Kathy, some of the eggs definitely not dark even if you count miscellaneous dirt on them. Let's just humor Mary along.

She don't need to be humored. She can take it. Heck, she's used to it by now. I don't know anyone that gets a lemon more often than she does!

Um, they aren't lemons. They are dark eggs! Duh!

Plus you just set your eggs and you are already the worst hatch partner in history! Where is the support? OMG
