Stella's Social Club

The little eggs.....were from my broody Wyandotte I believe. It's like her system was shutting down so she could set on eggs. Yesterday morning she had one of those and a normal size egg under with (along with the ceramic ones)

My critiques. (sorry, a little late!)

Hi Mary. Great job getting in tight and putting the burger right in our faces! I would move the camera angle up just a tiny bit since you have more room at the bottom and the bun is slightly cut off.
The light source is a bit far forward here as can be seen by the highlights on the pickle, tomato, burger, and bun. In this case, I would place the key light at 11:00(upper left corner) and then use a reflector to bounce light back onto the front of the burger. Try it and see what happens!

Beautiful colors and composition. A couple of quick changes and this would be perfect. First I would move the light just a bit farther clock wise which would give you more light through the leaf as well as eliminate the big highlight on the front orange. Then a simple switch to a vertical orientation and that's it!

Beautiful light. It looks like 1:00 rather than 11:00 but either way, it's the right location for this subject/composition!
The only thing I would change here would be to go to a vertical orientation(always try both!) and then see if it's possible to set this up without the end of the table showing in the background. The dark area after the table pulls the eyes off of your beautiful subject.

Here are my submissions for week 3:

One element of this week's assignment was to photograph something with backlight. This is seaweed salad up close and personal, another part of the assignment.

Had to try photographing meat again. Argh.

2 hours (CST) till the Viking show is on History Channel.
I've already got the DVR set

Wow Mary, I LOVE the steak photo. It made me want to look for a little A1 and dig in!
