The turkeys aren't fighting obviously one had a bad tooth, and the other wanted to check out the problem. You people read all kinds of weird stuff into everything.

My usually companionable toms are going through violent spats like this. It's pretty scary especially when they do it up in the rafters of the coop. The flock and I tend to clear the area until they get it worked out. It doesn't do any good to separate them, they just go at it again the next time they see eachother. I think the leadership role is switching between the two of them because the black one is now heavier than that Naraganset.
