Quite a few breeds over the years and an odds and ends here and there. Sometimes when people know you are willing to spend the time/money to campaign, they'll give you a puppy to get their kennel name out there.Deb 1980 was my last litter - after that just dropped in on the International Kennel Club show in Chicago, because they sent me free tickets. I used to see if anyone I knew was till around. Kennel name used to be Golden Acre even tho when I started we had a 35' city lot. First litter in '68. Gosh am I old! Had Cockers what did you show??
See you're Calif. Got my best 'female dog" from Hansi Rowland and Pat Seger I think from Sun Valley - of course my mind is gone. I remember the names but not the city. Darn it.
I got my first show dog in '67, a Maltese. She was a bit large 6.5 pounds, so I ended up showing her in obedience through her UD (many years before they had advanced obedience competition & titles). Then I showed an Afghan (also no go, but got her CD at the ripe old age of 8). Then I swore off HAIR!
I showed Scottish Deerhounds for quite a while, ended up selling a ***** to Canada that ended up as the top brood ***** in the country. Then I added in Italian Greyhounds and Cardigan Corgis (how opposite can you get?). I did quite well with all three breeds Best Puppy, BOS & BW at nationals as an owner handler. I was given a red Dobie and a Golden Ret to show as well.
Then my son got HUGE in showing rabbits. It came down to which shows we were going to chase. Very little politics in rabbits (no leash) and the entries were $1. We'd fly to rabbit nationals every year with 50+ animals. In Tulsa, OK he went BIS over 16,000 animals with a doe he bred. He was 14 at the time.

Now I just have 3 border collies & a harlequin Dane for sofa dogs and about 500 chickens, LOL
Oops, guess I said naughty words. A female dog. Now a male chicken I can say.
