Stella's Social Club

at my paternal grandparents' house in Maryland, back in the 1970s, literally EVERYTHING was blue -- my grandmother's motto was, "i love any color, as long as it's blue."

a few years ago i attempted to start a photo project of taking pictures of some of her old things, all colored blue of course (she passed away in 2008, & i miss her SO much) -- never got very far with it, but here's the "starter kit" if i ever get back to that project:

but seriously, their entire house was blue, inside and out. blue car, too.

Love the egg cups!

I made bruschetta for lunch.

For dinner we had smoked salmon with potlatch seasoning and dill. Served it with a dilly tartare sauce and creamed spinach. For dessert I made Maple Bacon Bourbon Cupcakes. Cupcake photos coming soon.

cupcake please hold the bacon, have to cut down on salt.

Mary I had a toilet the same color as yours (ditto sink and tub) and with a wooden seat replacement. When the toilet had to be replaced we had it out for trash pickup. From the outside it was in beautiful condition - seat also. Later in the day I came out and 'someone' had beaten the cr*p out of it and it was in big chunks all over my lawn. I was furious and figured punks did it. Then I realized the wooden seat was gone. Someone coveted the wooden seat so much they took a sledgehammer to the toilet. No accounting for taste.

My mom had the avocado fridge, double ovens and sink . The 1/2 bath was a deep beige - actually not too bad.

Well, I would have changed out those blue toilets in a heartbeat but we realized after moving in that they were wall mounted flush assist toilets and the cost of replacing was outrageous. I just bought blue towels and grumbled a lot.

Love the toilet seat story. Sorry, bacon is already in place.

That is so sweet. Honestly, if she loved it, she was entitled to it. It was her domain and her choices and whatever makes you feel good is what is right as far as color.

There Mary goes again, putting bacon on something sweet. Bacon on cupcakes?? Now, if it's savory, it's a muffin, not a cupcake. Call it a muffin and we're good, Mary!

Seriously, whatever you photograph is gorgeous, even if I wouldn't eat it.

What is dilly tartare sauce? Tartare is raw something, right? What is the raw part in the sauce?

I love this shirt. Some of you will know why.
