Steak au Poivre

Lovely photo and I love a good rare steak, but I'd be pushing all the peppercorns to the edge of the plate.

Lovely photo and I love a good rare steak, but I'd be pushing all the peppercorns to the edge of the plate.

They were mostly there for the picture. The steak is rubbed with ground peppercorns before searing. I took the whole ones off before serving it to Michael and Tucker.

I could almost taste that steak, almost rare. Yummy. Haven't had one like that in a long while. When I go back to the mtn,s there is a good steak place. You are making me hungry. A nice glass of rosea wine would hit the spot if I were allowed it. SIgh no more because of the diabetics but I can dream. I let my broody out with her 4 Kathy dells today. I know they hatched here but they originated from Kathy. She has become a fierce protective Mommy.

. She almost got me today when I snitched one to snuggle.

Its a beautiful day here on the coast of NC. Wish all of you could enjoy it, its 80 degrees with a light breeze.

Broke the little toe on my right foot this morning through stupidity. It's all black and blue. Of course, I'm expecting company next week, sigh.

Oh too bad! Hope it heals quickly, for being so small they sure can cause a lot of hurt.

Broke the little toe on my right foot this morning through stupidity. It's all black and blue. Of course, I'm expecting company next week, sigh.

This was the toe I broke a few years ago.........



I had one of those antique Singer sewing machines sitting on the floor in the spare room. I walked in to get something and didn't bother turning on the lights. I think the neighbors down the road heard me scream when I walked into it in the dark.

The toe still gives me trouble.

A long time chicken buying customer of mine used to work at the raptor center. They get bumblefoot, too. So, she got me a huge tub of the silver sulfadiazene cream they used on the eagles and hawks for that.
