Stella's Social Club

Dinner is done, the dog is walked, and I'm upstairs in my Nana cave with Tucker. he's crashed on the daybed.

This is nice. Waste of space for a bedroom. I like little bedrooms. I guess that is because I shared a room with my two older sisters and I was crammed into a trundle bed between their twin beds. There was no room to walk so we had to crawl to the bottoms of the beds and get out that way. My three younger sister had the same set-up in the room next door. Eight of us in a tiny one bedroom house. That could be why I left home at 17 and got married. I was looking for more space.

Very nice Mary, my hair almost looks like whipped cream, maybe you should add a cherry on top. Noticed in the grocery ads they have my ice cream for $ 1.00 off - bet they don't have Rocky Road though. The older I get the harder it is to bounce back from atrocities like that.

I know this is hard to believe, considering how much Ice cream I get , BUT, most of the stores don't carry MY flavor. So rainchecks are useless. Mainly the stores have several big name brands and don't like repeating the flavors among them. There are "inferior" Rocky roads out there, I've probably tried them all and they are meh!!

Sorry to hear Micheal is still not feeling better - don't let him overdo it, men can be horrible about starting back in too soon. And at being big babies too when it is not bad!

Sometimes even the light from reflected headlights or the moon is enough to set a rooster off, and once one starts they all join in. I love my only current rooster, a little Arkansas Blue who crows so quietly and very seldom! It is so peaceful at my house.

Meat loaf is one of my cheat dishes, I use packaged stuffing mix as one of the ingredients and it comes out great

Well here it is:

  • Rocky Road, brand not identified
  • Pretty eyes
  • White hair
  • Kind mouth
  • and a cherry on top!

Oops, and scrunched square for avatar.

Thanks Mike. The interesting thing this morning was Stuart's reaction to the egg. He was standing over it dropping little twigs and branches around and on top of it. Unfortunately I had to pick it up because it was right in the middle of the path that we all use, humans, goats and emus alike.

I am torn as to what to do with these eggs. I really don't want any more emus myself. I have all the animals I need right now except for a few more Icelandics. I would be afraid to incubate them because they could actually be fertile, although I haven't observed any mating. I have one woman interested in chicks but she might change her mind in the 56 days it takes to hatch.

If either of the boys actually became broody, I would let them sit and them let them have one chick. They raise them for a year so I would have to commit to one more. Hopefully if more than one hatched, I could sell the extra chicks. Anyway, for now I am just going to keep collecting eggs and watching their behavior.
