I don't want to hijack Mary's thread but just one more - this view is not unusual this time of year, the air is very clear in the morning and usually there are some patchy clouds, later in the day when the lake effect kiks in the sun disappears completely. Mackinac Island to the left and the sun rising over Round Island.

Just gorgeous! And, this is our thread, not mine! Wish I had some water to photograph close by. Maybe next year. Love this!

Thanks all! I am usually a little late to work this time of year as sunrise is just around the same time as work time - but the sunrises are worth it.

Emily and I made blood orange marshmallows yesterday. They had to sit overnight before cutting. This is what was left after I cut the marshmallows out. I could have just cut them into squares and eliminated any waste but I wanted round marshmallows for a photo shoot we are trying today.



The 52-week challenge theme for this week is candy and the style is artistic. We are going to try to drop a marshmallow into a big pile of powdered sugar and catch the explosion. Emily is going to practice with a marshmallow and a bullseye. If she misses the money shot I am going to make her wear this ring of leftover marshmallow on her head for a really artistic shot.

BTW these are delicious but a pain in the neck to make and clean up after.

I absolutely love that picture - I was going to say those clouds and the reflection look like pink chunks of ice but now I think they look like pink marshmallows!!

I absolutely love homemade marshmallows - I have a friend who makes them all the time, not me. Sure wish I could have a taste!
