Step Into My World If You Will

Most of our queens are a golden color but I have caught a few black queens. Because of this I have trained myself to look for the typicals as well as dark queens but they are surely tough to spot.

Yes, that pic of M.B.'s is a tough one!

I just picked up the parts for my hive today! I am going to be putting it together and painting it in the next couple days. Then I have to make a trap and set out to find me some bees

. I am really excited for this new venture and I can't wait to see how it works out!

My 9 year old is asking for more pics... She loves hunting for the queen! lmao

We had a swarm of honey bees inside the trunk of a tree right outside our house. I had someone come and remove them. He took out 3 containers of them and there were still some left.
I was sad to see them go but they were to close to the house.

You could just use the hive body as a swarm trap. Place a little lemon grass oil on a cotton wad and place it inside the hive.

Or you could order one of these: https://www.dadant.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=329

I did get some pheremone today along with my hive body and frames. I just don't know if I will really get some considering where my hive is going to be placed. I don't mind trying it though.

If you place it outside and there are scouts anywhere in the area, they most likely will check the trap out. Heck, even field bees will investigate.
