Stephen King's Reading Corner

Pics
I just finished the uncut version of The Stand for the first time. I struggled to get through some parts because it was so long, it felt like I might never finish, but because of the character development and the pictures he painted in my head, I think its a book that will stick in my head for a while. It feels real, still.
My favorite Stephen King book! Good that you read the extended version.

We watched Storm of the Century yesterday and I'd rate it with a generous 7/10.
I think the story would make a way better book than movie (too long with 4.5h). In fact I think Stephen King should stick to writing books and not be directing movies at all. ;)
Storm of the Century felt like the movie to the book Needful Things. Much rather would I have seen an actual Needful Things movie instead...

I've never seen that book as a movie (Storm of the Century), doesn't sound like I'm missing a lot.

Thanks for the review Wolfgang!

Actually I have to correct myself: King wasn't the director of Storm of the Century, he wrote the Screenplay. It never made it into a novel/book which I think could have been better than a TV Series...
Actually, you can buy the Screenplay book of Storm of the Century for 10 $ but who wants to read through that lol. I took a screenshot of a page of it on Amazon:

I still couldn't find Delores Clairborne (sp?) at my library but I picked up a copy of "Lisey's Story". It's about a writer's wife after the writer dies and is dedicated to Tabby (King's wife).

I've only gotten a few pages into it so can't comment on what it's like yet.

Funny! I saw that book at the library but once I opened it and saw it was a screenplay, I put it back. Not my kind of thing
