Steve McNair died- a tiny rant

Quote:
He was ACQUITTED. Jury in court of law in the country you reside in found him not guilty on all counts. There it is. I'm sure there will be some other reason found to call some one guilty who was found not guilty. Just wanted to put that out there. Have at it.

We're still entitled to our opinions. Guilty persons are acquitted, just as innocents are convicted. It happens. I still think Michael Jackson did it, and I still think OJ Simpson did it.

Equus - you beat me to it...OJ was aquitted and so have many other guilty people. Bad evidence, police/prosecutor errors, witnesses recanting....I go with my gut - you know, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - guess what? Duck!

Long and short of the MJ thing is he was a grown man sleeping with children in his bed, having sleep overs and what not with out any other adults (but his staff) present. At bear minimum, it looks unseemly and he should have known better. The fact that he settled out of court on, I believe two occasions, prior to the acquittal doesn't help his case either.

This harkens back to what the original post was about - when in death, we as a whole tend to have selective amnesia. Yes McNair was a great FB player and yes MJ was an amazing - if not genius - musician/song writer/dancer. But these men also had major, major moral issues and should not be touted as men of "character". Giving away a bunch of money to help others when you can't help yourself doesn't make things alright. You can't buy forgiveness for your sins.

"it's easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get to Heaven"

I agree Mc'Nair was a great FB player But
husband n, father Hummmm I dont think so.
He wouldnt be where he is today if
He stayed ,where he should have been with his
wife and children..

well, the outcome was pretty much what I thought it was

See, it's what happens when you don't keep in your pants..... Jealous "honey" on the side whacks you in your sleep. Sad, but not unpredictable.

Isn't that the truth. Same with Michael Jackson. He WAS talented back in the 80's, but that man was strange and just a few short years ago he was almost a convicted peophile, but now that he died it was "murder" and he is a freakin' hero. Same for McNair. His poor wife and kids . . .and whatever he did to that mistress must have been bad . . .two shots to the chest and two shots to the head. . .that is definitely overkill wouldn't you say?

3 more shots than needed to kill him. The first one did the job while he was sleeping.

Rumor is that he was breaking up with her and that he had yet another girlfriend on the side. She apparently was aware of all this and didn't take it very well. Four shots makes you think she was very, very angry with the man.
Why any woman would believe a married man when he tells you "I'm leaving my wife for you" is beyond me. And seriously, if a guy will cheat on his WIFE with you, what makes you think he won't cheat on you with another twinkie (cupcake/hoho/dingdong/pastry of your choice).

I feel really sorry for his mama and his wife and sons. A death in the family is hard enough without all this mess on top of it. It's very sad.
