Sticky chicks in eggs

We are incubating eggs and we have had some to hatch and jump up and go....others are sticking to eggs and having trouble hatching. Why? I'm not very familiar with incubating so I am learning as we go. We have had a couple to die in the shell or shortly after hatching. We had trouble with incubator maintaining heat for about 12 hours but I would have thought it would effect the whole lot..not just some. Any ideas?

i think that is normal. i noticed the same thing with my last bunch. a few dragged the shell around for a little bit, but it fell off and they were just fine. I dont know what causes it in some of them, maybe something the mom ate?!
