What can I do about sticky chicks. The chicks are really wet and sticky but the humidity is right. I dont know how to fix it.

i am by no means an expert but went thru the same thing over the weekend. several but not all of my chicks were VERY sticky. looked wet even when dry. i wiped them with a warm wet paper towel but it didn't do much so the next morning i rinsed them off with warm water. it helped a lot but there are a couple that still have some clumps. they are doing fine otherwise and seem to be cleaning themselves off slowly. someone on here said that my humidity was probably low. i agree since some were also shrink wrapped. my humidity was reading correctly tho. good luck to you

My one and only chick from my last hatch was really sticky. I didn't do anything to clean her off or help her and within a few days she looked perfectly fluffy and normal.

I thought when you have sticky chicks your humidity is too high, not too low?

well i had been having trouble getting it high enough during lockdown but i didn't know if that was the reason or not. it is what someone suggested to me. it made sense because some were shrink wrapped. i really don't know. but they are doing well now.
