So I had a broody hen who sat on a clutch of eggs for a while. I don’t know for sure how long, but a cat scared her off her nest. She left it over night and it was a pretty cold night. Upon examining the eggs one chick was either hatching or the egg cracked but it was dead. It looked like it was within days of hatching so I took the rest of the eggs and put them in my old still air incubator. I figured they were all dead but I thought why not try. I treated it like it was lock down time because Of the half hatched chick I found. Within a couple of day’s I heard them chirping and moving in the eggs. That was 2 day’s ago and I’ve heard nothing since. Because of the circumstances, I just threw them in and the only thing I had was a thermometer to regulate temperature. I have no idea what the actual humidity is but I did follow the instructions of the incubator. They never pipped but have stopped chirping.. do you think they died and If so what do you think went wrong? Humidity?
