One of my newly hatched chicks is trailing his shell behind him. It still seems to be attached so I am relunctant to interfere. I put him in the brooder a few hours ago, hoping the heat from the lamp would try it up and it would fall off - but it is still there. The others are hitching a ride on it as he drags it round. Weird. This is my first hatch so I am a bit worried. He is eating and drinking fine.

Any thoughts?

if its a big piece of shell I might take some of the shell off but DONT detach it completely, it will dry and fall off, congrats on the hatch.
