Still don't know about humidity...

I will be setting my eggs tonight or tomorrow! I have a LG-still air with an egg-turner. I have the temperature at a steady 100 degrees (I figured it would be higher once I had my eggs in about was registering temperate from egg level because I heard that a still air bator needs to be kept at 102 egg level, right?) but I am unsure about humidity! I have heard that it needs to be higher with a still air. Is this true and if so about what percentage humidity do I need during days 1-18 and then how much do I need to bump it up for lockdown? Do I leave the plugs in all the time or do I take them out? Sorry for all the questions but I am a first time incubating! After this first batch, I definately will be doing dry incubation. This freaking out over the humidity is not workin'! Thanks y'all!

Humidity should be 58-60% from day one to day 18 and should be increased to 65% from day 18 to day 21. For still air incubators

Take the plugs out, especially during the last 3 days. You have to have ventilation in there or the chicks will die. I am not sure about humidity being higher with a still air, but in my homemade with a fan I ran it at 30-40% day 1-18 and 65-75% at lockdown. I have read a bunch on BYC and never saw anything about humidity being higher in a still air. I have seen that temps should be higher in a still air 101.5 I think. Hopefully someone else will chime in about humidity.

I could have sworn that I read the humidity had to be higher in still air but I could be wrong. Anyone else?

Hi,

I use a a humidity in my still air incubator around 50% during the first 18 days. Fresh air came in the machine when I am turning the ggs by hand. ( half automatic).
The airholes are almost closed but I have 4 holes I let open a little for a very little ventilation.
Temrature that I use is 101F.
When the Eggs are pecked on day 20, I open the air holes complete and I use a hunidity around the 70%.

Look to your baby chicks in the machin. When they bite to air there is too little oxygen in the machine.
I hope you undestand what I mean. I do not speak very well English so I hope it is raedable what I wright here.
