We are building our coop in preparation for our chicks to move out . I am curious about others watering and food system. This is our first go at raising pullets, so looking for feedback.

I used commercial food and water containers, and I hung them up in the run. I had water in the coop too, but they made a big mess of it.

I do not put feed or water in the coop unless our Hen decides she wants to brood.

Our feed is in the run right outside the coop on the deck. The water containers is in the run. The birds water container is the cat litter container and we have three of them. One of the containers we bought at the feed store. It is round like the ones you use to drain oil from your car. I didn't cost much. The cat litter container was cut down for their water. I get the big containers of cat litter by Tidy Cat. We been using ours since 2012.

Oh what fun you will have. You'll learn along the way.

I like horizontal nipple waterers and the traditional metal hanging feeder.
