40 days is a long time, therefore, they are probably not fertile. 28-31 could be fertile or maybe even 32 days however, 40 is a long time. Sorry.

Normally, ducks should be able to tell if the eggs are fertile. Do your ducks have a tendency to be broody?

We have had them about 8 months and this is the first time they’ve been broody.

I didn’t know what they were when I got them but saw some mating just before they started to sit so assume 2 female and 1 male.

Did the male mate with all of them? Also, was the male on top of the females when they mated?

Yes with both of them. They were in the pool and he was holding them under.
