Still NO egg... hmmm

I have a polish hen. She is almost 8 months old... still no egg. I was asked over the weekend if it was perhaps a rooster. It can't be a rooster, no crowing and no big tail feathers. I know she isn't laying in the yard because I kept it confined in the run for several days and NO egg anywhere.

I know they lay at their own rate, but this is getting old.

she could just be a lagger some can take up or longer then a year but good luck

Is she getting enough light? If she is only getting 10 hours or so of daylight, it might help if you add a lightbulb to her coop and give her about 14 hours of light.

I wonder if the feathers over the eyes of Polish hens would make it harder for them to respond to light. Anyone have any ideas about that? You might cut some "bangs" for her!

All my other chickens seem to be laying... in fact, my young ones just started laying yesterday. I live in Northern California and it has been unusually dry and warm.
