Still picking tomatoes?

Dang! Don't you yankees know that green tomatoes at the end of the growing season is God's way of telling you to eat more fried green tomatoes???

I planted: Cherokee(2), Tigerella, Pineapple, Egg Yolk, Janne Flamme, Big Zebra, Goldie, Zapote, and Jubilee. Goldie and Jubilee were both producers of many large yellow fruits. Cherokee did not produce large amounts of fruit (maybe a dozen/plant)- dark purple. Tigerella - half dollar sized colorful very tasty fruits. Egg yolk - a disappointment small yellow cherry. Janne Flamme was a small orange prolific bearer. Zapotte produced a light pink irregularly shaped fruit with a very mild taste. No problem with wilt which has ruined my plants the two previous years.

Slice em as you would for sandwiches. Dip the slices in egg or milk, batter them in a mixture of 1/2 corn meal, 1/2 flour and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
You can also make green tomato parmagana, just like eggplant parmagana, except use the pre-fried tomatoes instead of eggplant.

Sure Sour, but I'd have to join you in eating them. I'd gladly pay for it later.

Oops, forgot to mention you don't want to use the green ones that are still very firm, they should be starting to soften up.

Still getting a few. There are lots of green ones still on the vine if I can keep my 2 year old out of the garden, but it's getting chillier.
