Goodness, that puts me in mind of my mare. She is a 28yr old Egyptian Arabian and I have had her since she was 5 (Just think of how old that makes me!). That horse is so accident prone, its actually SAFER to keep her on turnout than in a stall. She kicks the walls when she is trying to express impatience or any kind of emotion really. She once put her foot through a piece of 3/4" plywood, got it stuck and apparently see-sawed it out. That was six months of debriding, flushing and wrapping. She knicked, but did not sever her superficial flexor tendon.Hmm kinda like horses. Put them in padded stalls, and they find ways to hurt themselves!!! Great...now I've got 8 tiny two legged horses!
It is a very good analogy, they're just like horses. Accidents waiting for a place to happen. I got to the barn yesterday afternoon and my friends Morgan was standing ON TOP of a pile of lumber and other debris we are using to build field jumps.
