So my last post I talked about how I have one surviving baby from hatch of eggs that had gotten wet. This little guy is now 10 days old and he looks like he's not really grown at all. My 1st batch of jumbo coturnix quail you could see a big difference I think in 10 days. He is eating the same food and drinking water, you can start to see the little pins I think they're called for his feathers, but visually no difference in size. He was a rescue, meaning after 12 hours of watching his little beak just go and go in the same little hole with no result , I had to free him. Should I be concerned about his size? My daughter jokingly said, "he needs a friend to help him grow to show him the way." Now I wonder if that joke had any meaning, like is he just way too lonely even though we added a mirror, and a toy like suggested, as well as give him love and holding several times a day

I wish he had a friend, but a stuffed elephant is all we could offer. I just wasn't sure if there was cause for alarm at his size still being so small. Doesn't look like he's going outside any time soon. Is it possible for there to be dwarfism in birds? I can't seem to get the answers on google

I wish I had answer for this. I'm wondering about two Silkie babies that we have. We got five chicks at the same time, and the two blue Silkies don't seem to have grown, especially when compared to the other three birds. Good luck to you and your bird!

Good luck to you as well. Keep me posted if you can and I'll do the same. I just weighed him at 1.4 oz
