I have a styrofoam incubator with goose eggs in it. They are still alive, but I think before I kidnapped them when mommy gave up, she broke a rotten egg in there with them. Now I have the eggs in the house in a bator...I think the egg shells are what is stinking to high heaven!

Can someone help me get the stink under control, before DH makes me throw them out!! HELP PLEASE!!!

Can I put a cup of baking soda in there or will it make it toxic??? It is the bator stinking not the eggs....I have never had this happen before!!

Yuck, are you sure it's the incubator? Did you smell each egg? If I were you, I'd pull the goose eggs out and wipe down the incubator quick if it stinks that bad. I always cool my goose eggs once a day anyhow for 15-20 mins. Try to clean it within 15 mins. I've used styrofoam incubators in the past and never had that problem.

Check your eggs. Carefully sniff each one. It sounds to me like you may have a dud egg in the incubator that is causing the smell. Be careful because if you do have one rotting in there it may explode!

Thank you all, I candled all the eggs everyone was good. So this morning I put them in another bator while I took the whole bator out and washed it, it is now out in the sun. In the water to keep the humidity was some sponges, I think they had gone stagnant? So I took them out and threw them away.. We will see if that helps. Thanks all!
