Same here- we use pine shavings because cedar chips can be VERY harmful especially to baby chicks.

Got some pine shavings... All I can say is I can't wait till it warms up so they can move out! My house smells like a chicken coop!

We started out with straw and are now using pine shavings.
Seems to make a big difference and easier to keep clean.

We use pine pellets. They absorb the smell SO good and we have them in the house.
