Stooooopid newbie questino on egg storage

My refrigerator top shelf stays around 36-37 and that's where I keep my hatching eggs. I get good hatches.
 
I just tested the top shelf in my frig. It was 40. Did not test any other knowing that cold air sinks. But I am betting with ggs in carton that would put them with in range of 50.
