stop geese eggs from hatching

I can see not wanting a massive flock of them but sure would be nice to not kill the wildlife if another way can be found. Canadian geese are emotional intellligent animals. They really do make a mess but that's like shooting a dog.

I don't want to kill them or I would've by now, but when it comes down to me not being able to use my pond And crap all over my lawn I'm losing my patients .I am trying everything I can, they will not relocate them just to make them someone else's problem which I understand.

From what I know once they are nesting they are hard to move on. I've heard to try a radio playing loud where they are, throwing firecrackers when they land etc. The dogs don't chase them?

I tried gun fire to try and spook them when there on land, they just fly back onto pond and a 20 minutes later they are back on my lawn, my dogs will chase them but when we are not home they are in the house (to chase unwanted people)so the geese are not bothered that much by them.ive tried to make it as uninviting to them as i can but I'm not here 24 a day to mess with them.

Ever consider making one spot that's out of your way but attractive for them? Shaggy grass for grazing, brush for nesting cover. Although once they have a brood I guess they need lots of grazing space.

This is an out-there idea, but around here we use border collies to round up the geese and relocate (with a permit). It's a few extra bucks and dogs enjoy something not cattle. Since they are nesting, you may have some success rounding them up and moving their nest. I have zero clue what's involved in PA for permitting etc for such an operation.

To tell you the truth I don't want any gosslings, I did ask the state last year about relocating them they said they won't do that because they will only become someone else's problem.they sent one of their staff up and they told me some of the measures to take to make my property less inviting to them, they did mention getting a hunting permit for them (yes I do hunt) but never hunted geese I told them goose season is in the fall and by that time I would probably be shooting the wrong geese because so many come and go that time of year.they told me if I take the measures that they suggested and still having a problem then apply for the federal kill permit which they would back.which is my last resort.

I've had wild geese before I think they taste terrible, on the other hand farm raised are delicious
