Too many people think a lot of a good thing (meant to be used once or twice) is good.I guess it's worth considering before recommending it. If someone really knowledgeable here appropriately suggests giving some to a sick bird therapeutically then 4 others may start using it like vitamins. Possibly choosing sugar free.
All comes down to remembering the lowest common denominator of knowledge reading your posts. Not meaning that insultingly, but some people don't know.
When I said I use Nutri-Drench, that's when I use it, except only on chicks. The 1st week after hatching all my chicks get it. After that it's plain well water, straight from the well. My house water is filtered, iron removed, soften because it's very hard water and reverse osmosis, that's what drink/cook with....just thought I'd clear that up, I don't use it all the time.I’m another one who is a firm believer in clean, fresh, plain water. A healthy chick (or chicken) wouldn’t be that way if electrolytes or probiotics were out of whack. So it just makes sense to me that adding all that stuff is not only unnecessary, but can throw healthy birds off. Even most of the packages for those additives tell people that they are to be used short term, and that fresh, plain water should also be available at all times.
I do use a little Nutri-Dench for stressed or sick chicks. Briefly. Very briefly, and usually just the chick that is stressed gets it.
Exactly. But what you say about this, or I say about some other random thing, isn't what's heard by some people. Cut to... someones feeding their chicken diet mountain dew right now.Let me be clear. I recommend using it only when tube feeding and I recommend using regular Gatorade. I also recommend providing a source of plain fresh water.
There birds would all jacked up on Mountain Dew!Exactly. But what you say about this, or I say about some other random thing, isn't what's heard by some people. Cut to... someones feeding their chicken diet mountain dew right now.![]()
