Gatorade has probably save a few of mine.

But it's horrendous stuff. Is one step away from cola.

Pregnant Sows get high end 18%+ grains.
Medium grade conventional grains (15%) as well as rice/soy beans/pinto beans/barley/alfalfa for the stock breeders not gestating. Corn is very rare. I have a 800# boar that doesn't need any weight gain.

Now the growers are on close to 48%. I know other pig farmers that feed nothing but bread and doughnuts..
they sell their offspring for pennies on the $.
We get good money or we send them to freezer camp.

Does the 800 lb boar breed naturally?

The only peeps I know that use Gatorade are horse people. They use the plain non-flavored because some of their horse's will not drink water they are not familiar with, when their on the road.
As far as electrolytes for my birds, I use Nutri-Drench!

I too use Nutri-Drench for vitamins and amino acids. I even use it a couple times a week for adults during the season I'm collecting eggs for hatching.
For probiotics I use Gro2Max. It is formulated specifically for chickens. I put it in their water and fermented feed but I de-chlorinate the water first because the chloramine can kill the bacteria. You can get de-chlorinator at pet stores for aquariums.
I use both in chicks' first water according to directions on the label.

I also give extra vitamins to my flock during breeding season, especially if collecting eggs before they can free range.

Using Gatorade is nothing compared to some of the stuff I see.
