Stopped laying and wont MOVE!

hi,

i have 2 buff orpingons, they laid for about 3 weeks, and then both just sat down on their nesting spot and WILL NOT MOVE my daughters have to forcibly make them walk every couple of days to eat and water or they will not budge! is this normal and if not how to i fix it ?

Sounds broody.
Are they on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, does she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low cluckcluckcluckcluckcluck(ticking bomb) sound on her way back to the nest?

If so, then they are probably broody and you'll have to decide how to manage it.

You can let them hatch or break them.
