My chickens started laying around July 10, we had 3 that were laying and we would get 2 a day pretty much. On July 20 a friend of mine gave me a bantam rooster and now my chickens aren’t laying. I have 3 isa Browns who are 5 months and 3 white leghorns who are 4.5 months. The white leghorns haven’t laid at all yet, but the isa Browns stopped laying when we brought him home. Is there a reason they would stop?

Birds can get stressed during integration and go on a laying strike. Once they get used to having the new rooster around they will settle down and resume laying again. It could be a few days or a few weeks, every chicken is different.

Thank you so much! I was getting worried.
