Store bought eggs hatch along anyone? I'm buying regular organic.

I just read the packed on date on my whole foods eggs and don't have much hope for them... they are nearly 3 weeks old :< BUT I went to the local asian market and got what were marked as "fresh bantam chicken eggs" and when candled these had the most gorgeous distinct yolks and air cells...High hopes for those 9. One of them has a hairline crack... I am going to try taping it and hope for the best. I'll set all of them so I will have 21 eggs setting late tonight. 10 from whole foods and 9 from the Asian market...

I havent tried tape bt I know wax works very well .

Just fixed it with wax...and finished candling the rest. These are amazingly pretty eggs for being *store* eggs. I am going to be disappointed if nothing hatches from them LOL! Not one busted air cell, and they are different colors...some dark brown, some creamy, some light golden/pink.

I have used tape, wax and liquid band aid. I only had one with the liquid band aid that didn't hatch.

Candled all 96 store eggs yesterday when I put my other setting into lockdown. 90 of them are doing great the others are still a ? I have 8 left from our first test dozen from the store and they were all alive at lockdown. I can't wait to see what they are. The Amish guy said they are some kind of red. Judging by the egg size and color I would thing they are production reds but I will see when they hatch.

I set some Whole Foods eggs under a broody May 24th not sure if they are fertile. Some were duck eggs but I emailed the farm and they said they had a large flock but only one drake. I candled them today and they are all clear, no veins. The other eggs I got from WF were 6 Marans eggs from "Pete & Gerry's cage free Marans eggs" I have no idea if they are fertile, and no hope of candleing them but I would love to have a few of those dark egg layers and couldn't resist the urge to try. I also stuck two of my girl's eggs under her just so she wouldn't be completely disappointed (ok me too) My 21 days will be up on June 14th!
