Not all hens are exposed to a roo. Are these free range eggs? You have a better chance if they are. Where they marked fertile? There was a health food place near here that had some fertile eggs last spring. I was tempted to try them in a hatch! Good luck!

P.S. Give us some more details on the eggs you bought please. LOL

OK Day 7 and we just candled the eggs. You can see veins in 23 of them. I have no idea if any are blood rings but there is something in there. Not bad for store bought I would say.

I knew they had to be sold as fertile eggs. Not just any grocery store eggs.

But still they survived the packaging and handling as well as the delivery and handling to get to the store.

OK its day 14 and I just got done candling. Out of 48 store bought eggs I have 15 with devlopment. Out of the 15, 12 wiggled for us! So at this time we are about 25%, not to bad for a first hatch saved from being made in to egg dishes.
