storing eggs - i'm a newbie

I brush off any loose poopy-straw crumbs then store them in big shallow bowl in the fridge (new eggs go to the back of the bowl). When you take them out of the fridge to pack up to give away or to prepare, the condensation that forms on them when they hit room temperature is just enough moisture to be able to give them a good wipe with an old dishtowel. They look grocery-store-clean and probably still have some of the protective bloom coating on them to keep them fresh a little longer than scrubbed eggs. Don't know if it's scientifically proven but it works for me.
