I don't like the hassle of old crumbled pellets in the bottom of trash cans that end up piling up so I would just place the feed bag in the trash can without pouring out the feed. Personally though, I just have about 300# of feed in bags lined up in the hallway in the house

The best thing that I have seen for horse feed is an old stand up freezer, you know the type that just has the freezer and no fridge, even has seals around the lids.
I use a 44gallon drum, works just as well, but the freezer is the way to go as it has a hinge so you can lift lid easier!!
